Going to the Sun Road

No visit to Glacier Park is complete without experiencing a trip on the Going to the Sun Road and enjoying the wonders of this amazingly scenic route. Portions of this 50 mile long engineering marvel are open year round to provide access to many areas of the Park, with access over Logan Pass being dependent on Spring plowing. You can take your personal vehicle on the Going to the Sun Road or use the free Glacier Shuttle service, but for a truly unique experience, give consideration to a Red Bus "Jammer" tour. These historic convertible buses have been travelling the roads of Glacier Park since 1936.

Hiking

Over 700 miles of trails in Glacier Park provide endless options for exploring. From easily accessessible day hikes to multi-day backpacking classics, there are hiking options for all ages and experiences available.

Upon returning to the Great Bear Inn from your day of hiking, swap stories with other guests on our expansive deck as your evening meal is prepared.
